Every time I turn on my computer, Java wants access to my hard drive and so does juckeck.exe. I know what Java is, so I let it update. What is juckeck.exe? Do I let it access my hard drive?
Jim did a little research as well, but hasn't had a chance to post …
JUcheck stands for Java Update check. Makes sense huh? So, it probably is something you want to fix, but – be sure to follow the above instructions carefully because jucheck.exe could be faked by bad guys – don't follow links in a notice telling you that jucheck.exe needs fixing. Go to the source.
That advice about going to the source is valid not just for jucheck.exe.
Anytime you get a suspicious notice like that, it is important to stop and investigate. Clicking on links is what often gets folks into trouble.
Staying up to date IS important, but it seems there is always something that needs updating. Trust your up to date anti-virus to help.
