It never ends … the scammers keep coming up with new ways to get at us. The latest one I just got yesterday – a Skype call with a robot voice telling me that there is a system update that I need to install and giving me a website to go to. The voice repeated the website address several times … soswgo . com *DON'T GO THERE* it is a scam. I tested it, and it automatically started scanning and doing something. I stopped quickly, but now I need to run some extra scans on my computer to be sure I didn't get some virus. I'm not sure what it would do if you let it go – but it can't be good.
I checked domain name records and discovered that soswgo was registered just yesterday! In the Bahamas.
If you get scam Skype calls, here are instructions on how to block future contact and to report it to Skype
