Wondering if there is a way to use Picasa with i pad. I have really come to like Picasa 3 and don't want to give it up.
Has anyone used photo gene for iPad or Web albums for iPad.

Nope – no Picasa for iPad, and I don't expect one any time soon either.  I could be wrong, but I dont' think so.

Haven't used anything else yet .. let us know if you do.

I will definitely post here as soon as I start playing with any photo tools on the iPad.

The iPad has many very sweet apps for photographers.  Most of them are very intuitive so require almost no training. One of my favorites is Snapseed.  It handles many of the adjustment necessary to make your photos look better. Photo delight is fun because it lets you colorize sections of a photo.  This is a very popular effect these days and takes some doing in Photoshop, but this app lets you do colorizing with your finger. Photoforge is another popular photo manipulation app.  There are several apps that will allow you to connect with online photo services (Flickr, snapfish, and the like) to make web albums from your photos.  Most of the functions of Picasa can be performed by combining various Apps, but for large collections of photos, you'll need to continue to use Picasa or iPhoto and send albums to the iPad for viewing.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the info. I look forward to trying some of those apps.  Haven't played with pictures at all yet on the iPad

I have tried photogene and like it but I have not really got on top of sending them back to my computer-either direct to picasa or anywhere else. I need to spend more time on it.

Ok I am still Hhving trouble sending edits from Photogene( on Ipad) app to  my Computer. Where I get a choice of targets I think I am ok as far as sending to My photo librabry and then on to Computer. But if I want to export to Picasa or DropBox I have some queries.

First next to Dropbox there is the word UNLINK . What is that all about? Also next to Picasa is the word CLEAR. What does that mean. Also I presume here when it lists Picasa as a target to export to , it actually means Picasa Web Albums and not what we understand to be Picasa on the main.computer.

I seem to be ok sending pictures from Computer to Ipad but its the other way I am struggling with.  HelP!!I really like Photogene for if I have loaded the pictures from camera to ipad first to edit. However its getting them back to my computer for storage as it were that is my problem.

The best way to get the Photogene edited pictures from your iPad to your computer is to connect the iPad directly to the computer using the USB cable.  The computer will see the iPad just like another drive and you can import the files using Picasa to your MyPictures folder.  You could also use Windows Explorer to copy the pictures from the iPad to your computer.

Remember, Picasa does not store your pictures.  Picasa is a tool to manage the pictures on your computer.
