To plan a long trip in Streets and Trips 2010, I learn all I can and mark points of interest placing individual pushpins and also bring up some 25 or more campgrounds and specialty restaurant listings along the west coast highway.  Campground and restaurant listings look the same as pushpins but function a little differently as far as editing text or moving them, and i imagins they show and hide data differently too.

1. People often ask me to hide all those text baloons because they obscure seeing the entire route (and other map information) at zoomed-out levels. I can show or hide data for individual markers, but have not been able to find the way to hide or restore all of them. At one time I did find once a way to either remove or restore all, don't recall which, but the other one had to be all done for each individual marker. That can be serious trouble if you have near 100 markers. And that was in an older version. Today I highlighted one of them and right clicked, then "show or hide data" and the file locked up.

2. Perhaps this is because my pushpins are not in a few sets that I can show or hide by rightclicking in the list of the legend window.  I have a long list there where each pushpin set listed seems to contain only a few, perhaps those I made on a particular day or particular file opening. Can they be combined into one or several files?

3. If I did manage to get these combined and then to show or hide at will, that action on my pushpins would probably not apply to showing or hiding all the campgrounds and restaurants baloons – so I need to know how to control those too.

4. Finally, do you know when will Streets and Trips 2011 be in the stores.  Its not here in Idaho yet and I recall previous years being out earlier.

#1: you can show or hide the info boxes for pushpin sets.  Right click the set and look toward the bottom of the available menu – "Hide all Pushpin Information"  As for locking up … there can be so many different reasons for that.  I'm wondering if you're using all the POI sets in the megafile?  That does create a huge file that tends to lock up.  I recommend only copying the sets you want.  See video number 7 in the Streets and Trips series.

#2: yes, you should organize your pushpins into logical sets so they can be manipulated as a group.  See instructions on combining pushpins from multiple sets: http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/…..et-another

#3: I think the key here is to make the restaurants and campgrounds you're selecting into your own pushpin sets

#4: no word on S&T 2011 – only rumors at this point.
