OfflineWe have Streets and Trips 2010 and I have been following the tutorial on how to use the tool. The video for the POI megafile says I need to go to Help and then Streets and Trips on the web. Then click on Support and How To and click on the Streets Blog. When I bring up the Streets and Trips on the web I am brought to a different web page that has a listing for Support and Training and when I click on that it brings me to a web page that doesn't appear to have any access to the POI megafile. There is a Laptop GPS World forum and I tried that but was not able to find the one for the megafile. Long story short (actually not so short), I finally went to the website to LaptopGPSWorld and found the megafile but it took me 2.5 hours for something that I thought would only take a few minutes. We are on Microsoft 7. Would that make a difference as far as the website we were brought to going through Streets and Trips 2010?
Brett,
Sorry you had such an ordeal trying to find the file. Chris is in the process of updating the S&T videos to incorporate changes in the new 2011 version of the program.
One of the problems I see is that MS changed the help on the web screens. Another problem is that the location of the file tends to change, so we cannot just give you a link. We do try to post the link on our Facebook page whenever the file is updated. You can get those updates by "liking" us at http://www.facebook.com/geeksontour.
We now recommend searching for "poi megafile" with Google or Bing. That will always return a faster result.
For others reading this thread, here is the direct link to the megafile:

But, I agree wholeheartedly with Jim – Google is by far the fastest way to find anything. Just type POI Megafile into a google search and the link above is the first one in the search results.
The August POI Megafile is released.
