Here is a link to an RV.net article with a Geeks On Tour video about the POI Megafile.  It is still valid with the new version of S&T.

The first three Microsoft Streets&Trips Tutorial Videos are view-able at GeeksOnTour.TV .  Check out the Learning Library tab.

Wayne,

Everything will be fine.

Are you sure you are downloading the latest version of the Megafile?  They are now version specific.  Here is the LINK.  Take some time to view the tutorials on the site.

If you download the smaller .zip file, you must extract the files (unzip), before you can use the file in Streets.  Those instructions are also on the site.

Are you having a problem opening previously saved .est file in 2013?

Jim

Thanks for your reply Jim

I down loaded the big Mega file for 2013. I have watched the tutorials a bunch of times. I tried to watch with Duck Tape on my ear to keep it in my head too.

OK I here'z the deal can I import the Mega file into a route already planned ? or do I need to start over ?

I have got Mega file saved into Streets & Trips in a file or route but that's not what I was looking to do. I was wondering if you can install it to run with S T all the time ?  so that every time you plan a route the program will bring the Mega file along ??

Thanks Again

Wayne

Wayne,

When you already have a route started, you need to open another instance of Streets and Trips and load the megafile in that second instance.  Then you right click on the pushpin set that you want and choose copy, then go back to your own trip file and Edit Paste.

The technique is shown in the video on downloading other POIs - it's shown at about the 6 minute mark.
