Contemplating purchasing a Nook vs Fire… anyone know if I'm able to transfer my apps from my iPhone to my tablet? Which one is easier to transfer apps too, or if its even possible?

The Nook and the Fire both use proprietary limited versions of the Android operating system and are not compatible with the iPhone's iOS.  That said, most apps available for the iPhone have comparable apps for Android.

Barnes & Noble (Color Nook) and Amazon (Kindle Fire) can both be "rooted" to allow 3rd party applications to be installed.  This may void your warranty.  Instructions on how to do that are available on the web.
