Hey Roxie,

When you say 'Tabs' … I think you mean 'Pages'

If you take a look at my blog (www.geeksontour.blogspot.com) are you referring to where it says 'About Us' and 'Our Other Websites' ??

If so, you're talking about Blogger 'Pages'. I don't have a video on them right now .. I should have by the end of this week – Blogger videos is my job for this week!

The way you make a page is when you're ready to make a new post – look at the tabs at the top. Click on the 'Edit Pages' tab – Then New Page. After you create the very first page, you will get a question about where you want the list of pages – choose Tabs at the top.

Thanks, Chris. I do know where to get a new page but did not know that this is where I get the option of a tab. Will pursue with one of my "play blogs."

Thanks….I do know how to get a page for Tab information….but I do not get a choice of where to put it. Check this blog…Greyt Greys. http://greytgreys-marstons.blogspot.com/ Tabs are at the top but do not have the tab, boxed, like you have on your blog. I do not get a question so I can choose where to put the "tab." I do not know why the tab-page notice goes to the top. I have not requested anything. Is there an update I should do?

This is the look I am trying to get on my blogs …I call these TABS…or they are new pages on the same blog. Just want them to look like this:…never mind…this will not post in this forum. Sending you this look in regular E mail. Sorry….Roxie

Hey Roxie,

The choices on sort order are found when editing the Pages gadget. In your page layout design view, you should see the 'Pages' gadget just below your header. To the right, you'll see an 'Edit' link. Click that and you'll see the pages that are included at the top menu of tabs on your blog, you can check/uncheck them. Scroll down a bit and you'll see their sort order, you can drag them to different places.

As for the look of the tabs themselves, that is controlled by the template you're using. Try going into Template designer and selecting different templates.

That looks like the 'Awesome' template with the third color choice.

Just try going thru all the template options till you get a look you like.

Will take a look at the Template Designer. That is the initial step I did not know. I was trying to get tabs put on my existing blogs.

Here are steps a friend from HTR sent, our VP, computer club…

1. From "Page Elements", go to "Template designer"

2. Most designs, except "Basic" will support "Pages". Pick one you like. Tabs will be at top unless you create a Widget.

3. Now when you go to "Posts" you can have the option to create a "Page". You can do up to 10.

4. When you have several pages, return to "Page Elements" and click on "Edit" on the box that with "Tabs" in the title.

5. You get a "Pop Up" with options to arrange tabs by dragging – along with some other things.

6. Move them around as you like.

Make sure you have the "Add new pages automatically" box checked.

Remember, everything starts with "template designer".

Except, all things don't start with Template Designer. The pages gadget is found in Page Elements – editing that is how you can change the sort order, and the location (top or sidebar.) The template designer is where you specify the colors and 'look and feel' – there's not a whole lot of choices. If you want to get really fancy, have you watched the video on the Blogger Series called 'Fancy Templates'?

The Template video is and will be helpful. OK… Understand to look in Page Elements for the pages added and where they appear…order. Now to find the time to work on this…before nearly midnighty!! Maybe I will just stay with this next improved step with tabs before Fancy Templates! And…yes…we are getting close to having fun…yet!
