I started my blog in Blogger before joining Geeks on Tour.  I only had one post but using your tutorial has helped me greatly to expand my blog.

As the tutorial recomended I established a G-Mail account but Blogger still has my blog associated with my AOL email account rather than my G-mail account so I log in to Blogger using the AOL email address as the user name.  That works OK but I understand that using the Google account user name G-Mail log in would be better and give me more functionality.

Please tell me how to change to the Google account user name.  Thank you.

Paul

Hi Paul,

First of all, there's nothing *wrong* with having your Google account associated with your AOL email.  YOu can leave it alone if you like.  We have just found thru experience that people tend to get quite confused if they use gmail and yet, their google account uses a non-google email.  In the long run, we think it makes a lot more sense to have all Google stuff, accessed by using your google email (gmail.)

Changing your account is not particularly simple.  For Blogger, there are two ways to change a blog to a different Google account:

1. Add the second account to your blog as an author with admin rights.  Establish that that account can indeed administer the blog, then remove the author with the original (AOL-based) account.  Detailed instructions can be found at http://www.google.com/support/…..swer=41448

2. Export from one account and import to a new blog on the new account.  Bad news: this method will only get the content of the blog, not the design/sidebars etc. It will also have a new URL.  Good News: using this method is the safest – there is *no* danger of losing access to your blog this way.

Any further questions, let me know.

Thanks for your quick response.  I am just going to leave it alone.  As a father and grandfather I have learned never to wake a sleeping  baby! Cry
