I'd like to fill in all the allotted space for my header / banner picture but it only fills up 2/3 of the space across the top. I take a photo, paste it into MS PowerPoint, add my 'Roadrunner Chronicles' logo/business card picture thing, then take a screen shot which turns it all into a .jpg file on my desktop. When I go to my blogger template and header area, I remove the old photo and upload the screen shot .jpg from my desktop.

I rarely fills up the header across the page.

Looks like the screen shot is limiting the photo, check out learning libarry using blogs video on header/ Photo Chris talks about adding photos and referances the 730 pixtal size limit in blogger.
Good Luck great blog
Bob
Have you tried opening the .jpg in Picasa … then you can use the export command and specify the necessary pixel size. The video Bob mentioned should help.

OfflineChris:
I also have the same problem of the picture not filling the header. I even edited the photo in Adobe to try and solve the problem.
I clicked on your link and it brought me to the blogger tutorials, but I must be totally blind because nowhere can I see anything about photos for Headers.
Can you please redirect me.

Offlineomg – you're right! That video got dropped when I redesigned the learning library pages. I've added it back in here: http://geeksontour.tv/2011/11/…..og-header/

OfflineSorry had to take care of some business the last few days.
I followed your video to a "T" and my header picture still doesn't fill the top of the header. Mine says 760 pixels maximum. I have editted the picture to many different shapes and sizes tryingto make it work. The picture seems appear to the left of center, where the text i posted below is centered.
Is there a way to readjust the size or shape of the header of text box, like on Power Point, or posting a print on Excel?

OfflineJust this morning I was playing with the blog templates and found a sidenote for adusting blog size. When I clicked on it, our blog was displayed below. I figured I could increase the size of the header picture, but I was wrong.
If I increased the size of the blog it caused the picture to drift further to the left of center. I then decreased the overall width to 750 pixels bringing the picture to center.
I may not have totally filled the top of the blog with my picture, but by centering it the blog looks much neater.
Someone else I know suggested trying a different template in order to totally fill the screen with my pictures, but I'm not sure that I'll go that route, because a blog appears differently on standard width screen then on a wide screen.
