My last years blog I created through picasa. I selected my pictures then clicked on the "blog this" button in picasa. My settings are set for public viewing. When I view my blog there is an X where the picture should be.Why won't the pictures display?

The pictures are actually stored in picasa Web albums … a special album just for your blog.  Is it possible you deleted them from your Web Albums, not knowing why they were there?

Please tell us your blog's address (URL) as well as your Picasa Web Album address.

Since I created my blog from picasa, selecting the pictures first this would tell me this is not the best way to go. I don't remember if I created the web albums first, probably not in all cases as internet access was limited.

How do I tell if I used pictures from web albums or straight from picasa? That could be the issue as I now remember thinking it would be good to have the pictures in the blog different from the web albums so more pictures could be seen, however the good pictures were the same in both places.

The blogs address is: http://www.maladonadventures.b…..ogspot.com and the web album address is: http://www.picasaweb.google.co……mackinnon

Thanks

Wow – what amazing pictures!  And, your upcoming itinerary has me drooling … Istanbul to Cape Town.  Can we tag along?

Nice blog too – I like the background and colors you chose, and you've made good use of the Pages and Tabs.

As for the red x's in your blog posts … when I click on them, it tries to take me to a picture on http://localhost:… That means it's looking for the picture on your local computer.  It may show up when you're accessing the blog from your computer with the original pictures.  It definitely cannot find the picture when I'm accessing your blog from my computer.  I really don't know how it would have gotten posted with a 'localhost' address.

How I would go about fixing it is to edit the post at Blogger.com (See video for Editing Existing Blog Posts) Then, Re-Insert the pictures, using the Picasa Web Album – see video for Adding Pictures from the Web

Let us know how it goes.  And, have fun on your upcoming travels!

Thanks for all the tips Chris. I have now completely updated the blog with pictures and also re-dated the events, which is great. I also ran into a couple of issues that no matter what I do I can't seem to correct the problem. In my post Galata & Walls there is a font colour issue around the word Constantine, no matter what I try I can't get it to be the same as the rest of the test.

There is also a spacing issue which I have spent a lot of time on trying to correct. this is in the Malta and the Dolmabahce posts of www. maladonadventures.blogspot.com

Any ideas?

Wow – one of these days, I'm going to sit down and really read your blog – what travels you've had!

As for errant font colors and spacing – you may need to go into the HTML view to get them fixed.  Did you watch this video on Blogger HTML view?

Thanks Chris. This was a scary operation for determining the spacing issue but it worked. The font colour was a lot easier to determine. There is still an issue with font on one blog but not going to worry about it as most people will not notice.

My next project is creating  a map so people can follow our route and be able to read the information about the area from there. A huge job as a lot of the towns are not listed on the map. I get a different bubble when I add a rown is that normal? How do I delete a bubble that magically appeared and don't need it? I can' seem to get rid of it.

What mapping program are you using?  My choices would be Google Maps, Streets and Trips, or Google Earth.

I usually use Streets and Trips now for maps of our route, because that's what we use all along to plan the route, so it's already in there.

Not sure what 'bubble' you're referring to.

Good Job on the Blog!
