My wife, Kathy would like to add music to our blog. At present one song only, but with time a few different ones. Is this doable and if so how?

It's about time.

Adding music is not a real simple thing.  First of all, the issues with copyright mean there are extra hurdles to jump.  And, second, it's not just the music file itself, but a music player that is involved.

So, questions:

What kind of file is the music?  .mp3? .wav? .wma?

Where is the file?  on your computer? or on a music sharing site?  If it's on a music sharing site, which one.

Here is Blogger's official help on putting music on your blog.  We can help you thru it.

Chris

I haven't a clue as to where it came from other than it came from Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..JSOJHBZQG4 The song is Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. My wife found it and though it would fall into the theme of our blog. She thought it would be nice to have it on the sidebar so people could click on it to hear the song.

I personally don't do Facebook or Youtube, still trying to learn blogging.

To post a youtube video in the sidebar, you can use the html gadget and paste the code in there.

So – in Youtube, you click on Share and Embed.  Copy the embed code.  Then, in Blogger go to layout and add a gadget – choose HTML/Javascript for the Gadget.  Paste the code in there and click ok.

It's the same process as for putting a map in the sidebar … here's the video for that:
